Single tasking is extremely difficult for A type personalities and trying to do lots of different things at the same time can cause stress, low productivity, extremely exhausted and heading for burnout.


There are times when you can do more than one thing at a time such as talking on the phone when you are walking along the road but when you are sitting at your computer doing a particular job and someone asks you to do something else. This can cause you to get annoyed and can lead to a lot of pressure.

Multi-tasking is inefficient, but it can add to your stress levels, so the best thing to do is single-tasking if at all possible. this will lead to a calmer, more efficient and more effective way to work, and this will lead to a better quality of work. More than that, when you do it well, you will get a greater sense of pleasure and pride from it.



So what do you do?


Try and stick to one job at a time if at all possible. When you are at work, do one job at a time and if you are asked to do something else, then decide what is a priority and what can wait for another day. Then tackle the priority and keep going until you finish, and this will help keep you be more focused. Use a notepad or a calendar on your pc or mobile phone  to list what needs to be done each day and this will help to relieve some pressure.
